We’ve talked about Skid Loaders in the past and it would be remiss for us here at Bulldozers for Sale to ignore the most popular of these, Bobcat loaders.
Bobcat machines come in several stripes, of course, mainly based on the Bobcat loaders platform (now called the M-series). These models come in versions as Bobcat excavators, Bobcat loaders, and Bobcat skid steer models. Many of the newer models of Bobcats for sale will have interchangeable tools to make them used in several configurations.
In the past, skid steers like the Bobcat skid steer have been associated with utility and usefulness, but rarely with comfort. That has changed with the new addition of the forward cab and wider layout for better seating and the optional air ride seat takes most of the shock value out of the usual jerky movements that Bobcat loaders are known for.
Given the huge number of Bobcat loaders, Bobcat excavators, and other attachments available with Bobcats for sale, it’s not surprising how popular these little machines are.
The M-series is the highest-selling skid steer model in North America and Bobcat skit steer is one of the most recognized brands on the market. The 630 and 650 series are designated by their lift path (vertical or radial) with these little Bobcat loaders moving a lot of dirt or debris.
Definitely popular for a reason, the Bobcat skid steer is one of the more popular Bobcats for sale today.
Back in 2003, Volvo Construction (a division of Volvo Trucks) unveiled a line of compact earthmovers, officially entering the construction market with the Volvo Skid Steer line of machines. They are gaining ground in popularity here in the U.S. as German engineering begins proving some of the Korean and Mexico-made products to be inferior in quality. So we here at Bulldozers For Sale thought we’d better show you some of the Volvo skid loader options now available.
Several models are available, of course, ranging from Volvo bulldozers to the Volvo Skid Steer line of lifters, diggers, movers, dumpers, and more. Most are capable of being fitted with multiple attachments to maximize their usefulness and making them some of the hottest bulldozers for sale today.
The most popular Volvo skid loader models are the MC series, whose numbers designate their size and weight capacity. So the MC60B is the smallest with a European capacity of 635kg and an SAE capacity of slightly more at 1,400 pounds. This unit is small, maneuverable, and very useful in landscaping, paving, and so forth.
At the other end of the line is the heaviest Volvo Skid Steer, the MC110B with a 1,089kg (2,400 pound) capacity and the ability to move mountains of dirt and debris. It has roughly twice the horsepower of the MC60B and is considered the premier in quality performance and versatility in the bulldozers for sale market.
All Volvo Skid Steer models can be fitted to become Volvo bulldozers, Volvo skid loader, and more. They are strong, lasting machines with a lot of fans amongst the construction and ranching trades. They rarely last long on the bulldozers for sale market, new or used.
A skid steer (often said “skidster”) is an extremely versatile little tool used for many projects. These are self-propelled land vehicles which have hydraulic arms capable of utilizing various attachments to lift, scoop, carry, etc. Probably the most popular models of skid steers in the nation are the Case Skid Steer models.
Here at Bulldozers For Sale, we see a lot of machines that are either bulldozers by nature or are capable of doing many of the jobs a bulldozer can do. Smaller models of Case bulldozers, for instances, and Case Skid Steer machines look very similar and for that reason, many Case skid loader owners put bulldozer blades on their machines to turn them into small and versatile Case bulldozers.
When you’re looking to buy a new Case Skid Steer, whether it be to act as a Case bulldozers, Case skid loader, or Case uniloader, there are some things to consider.
First, how near is your local Case dealer? Most likely, it’s nearby. Even if you plan to buy used, you’ll want to scan bulldozers for sale with the idea that if any maintenance needs to be done, it will be at a Case dealer. You’re greatest consideration will be what you want to use it for, though.
The larger, heavier Case Skid Steer models will be for lifting heavier loads while lighter, more nimble ones will be for scooping, scraping snow, and small Case bulldozers jobs.
There’s a lot to consider when you’re looking at bulldozers for sale. If it has a Case Skid Steer name on it, though, it’s probably a good machine to be considering.
There are several sizes of Komatsu excavator choices available, from a very small unit with a 9-foot reach and a nearly five foot digging depth to a large Kamatsu excavator with a long 20 foot reach and a 13 foot digging depth all the way to a gigantic piece of heavy duty construction equipment with a 64 foot reach and 26 foot digging depth!
All over the country, you’ll find Kamatsu excavators for sale, along with Komatsu bulldozers for sale and other heavy duty construction equipment from this trusted company. They make nearly every kind of construction machine you can think of, but are best known for their backhoes and Komatsu excavator units.
Possibly the most common of the Komatsu excavator units is the PC78US-6, which is a medium-duty machine and one of the most recognizable of all heavy duty construction equipment. It is a tracked vehicle that has a backhoe attachment to one side of the cab and an optional bulldozer blade at front for smoothing surfaces or leveling out the terrain for the Kamatsu excavator to sit on.
Most bulldozers for sale will include a blade like this one and many of the Kamatsu excavators for sale will be of a type similar to this: a PC78US-6, PC88MR-8, or a PC130-B are most common models right now. They are mid-range Komatsu excavator units with a 20-27 foot reach and a digging depth up to nineteen feet, depending on model.
Komatsu excavator makes some of the most commonly-seen pieces of heavy duty construction equipment out there.
Similar to the skid steer loaders we talked about yesterday, a compact excavator is a very small piece of heavy duty construction equipment. In fact, they are designed that way for two reasons: first, maneuverability and the ability to get into relatively tight spaces; second, ease of transport so they can be easily taken to residential areas and other places where heavy equipment and large trucks have a rough time maneuvering.
For many tasks, we at Bulldozers for Sale know that the compact excavator (or compact track excavator) is the tool of choice. They are basically backhoes or 3 point backhoes that have a smal size and are stand-alone in operation. The compact track excavator can dig trenches, holes, or anything a normal backhoe can dig, though size does make a difference in amount dug and how deep you can go, of course.
Many compact excavators for sale will be found at auctions involving utilities, utility contractors, or municipalities. This is because their most common use is for digging trenches for utility lines, pipes, etc. and with an auger attachment to dig post holes for small telephone poles or supports.
Many auctions featuring bulldozers for sale will also have a compact excavator as a bulldozer listed, since front blade attachments (riding under the backhoe itself) are commonly used to smooth over freshly-filled holes and trenches.
The compact track excavator is definitely one of the most useful and common pieces of heavy duty construction equipment you’ll see. Whether you need one or not, if you see compact excavators for sale, it’s worth considering as an investment, at least.
